Description
Rare Victorian Copy of a Renaissance Revival Exhibition Quality Knight's Helmet. Made of cast iron elements, the overall helmet is richly decorated in high relief floral scrolls, the sides of the crest with ornate panoplies of arms; the vented top visor with grotesque face amid floral scrolls; lower visor with griffins and scrolls. The sides with allegorical or historical vignettes. The lower chin element is graced with highly detailed arms panoplies. The quality of work and the fine relief detail make this helmet a fine display item. Size: 13-inches tall. Condition: Very good, showing age wear and patina.Auction Info
