Confederate C.S. "Spun Hook" Sand Cast Officer's Model Belt Plate. A beautiful, original excavated "Spun Hook" Confederate officer's sand cast brass C.S. beltplate, correct thickness, curvature and spin markings, the reverse with completely intact hooks. Original blackened background still present. Found at Corinth, Mississippi during the 1980s. [see Mullinax, 2nd edition #148 for a similar example]. Probably lost on October 5, 1862. Sold with original receipt showing buckle selling in 2001 for $3900. Condition: Fine to excellent as excavated.
