Description

Excellent William Tell Cigar Label. The famous historical scene is depicted in this excellent 9" x 6.5" full-color lithographed inner label, accented with gold-embossed highlights. The scene is stuck at the apex of drama as Tell takes aim at the apple with his crossbow. Hermann Gessler, the tyrannical overlord who forced Tell to prove his marksmanship by shooting an apple off the head of his son, looks on from horseback, surrounded by his soldiers and various other onlookers. This is a striking label in very fine condition. From the Richard Revolinski Collection.
