Jack Red Cloud Cabinet Card by Trager with Chief Joseph Carte de Visite. Two items, as follows. (1) A superb quality portrait of the son and successor of Red Cloud, powerful Ogala Lakota chief. Identified in the negative, on a Trager and Kuhn mount (Chadron, Nebraska). Excellent. (2) A seldom-seen straight-on head and shoulders portrait of the Nez Perce leader. No backmark but period writing on the back appears to name the "artist" as "J H Fouch", also identifying the subject as "Joseph- the Nez Perce King". Contrast a bit light, otherwise excellent.Auction Info
