Description
Apollo 10 Command Module Pilot John Young's Flown Space Suit Patches (Four) Directly from his Personal Collection, Certified and Signed on the Display Frame. Presented here is a 10" x 17" framed display containing all four pressure suit patches from the May 18-26, 1969, Apollo 10 mission, a dress rehearsal for the first manned lunar landing. It contains (top to bottom): a 5.75" x 3.75" (sight size) U.S. flag (worn on left upper sleeve); a 3.75" x 3.5" NASA logo on Beta cloth (worn on right chest); a 3.25" x 3.25" Apollo 10 mission insignia on Beta cloth (worn on left chest); and his 2.75" x 0.75" "J. YOUNG" Beta cloth name patch (worn on middle chest). There are several NASA photos available that show these items on his pressure suit. Rarely offered. Fine condition with some scattered fading and light soiling.On the paper backing of the frame, Young has written: "I certify that these 4 patches were on my Apollo 10 Pressure Suit when I went to the MOON. John Young".
