Description

Andrew Jackson: An Extremely Rare Daguerreotype Of Jackson in the Closing Years of His Life A 1/16th plate image of an engraving of Jackson as he appeared around the latter part of his presidency. Very likely issued in 1848 when a variety of small political daguerreotype images made their first appearance. Although Jackson had passed away in 1845, his name remained a powerful political talisman. Condition of image is exceptionally strong and bold, with an unusual thermoplastic case in equally nice shape. Overall measurement when displayed open: 3.75" x 2.25". From the collection of Stanley King.
