Description
Cyrus McCormick Autograph Letter Signed "C.H. McCormick." One page, 8.25" x 10.5", Chicago, Illinois, December 23, 1852. To Jno. R. Walker in regard to a warranty on his reaper. Here is an exceptionally early reference to the invention that made McCormick's fortune, and revolutionized American agricultural production: the reaper, invented just twelve months before. In part, "…I regret your entire report of mess at mowing…It is my custom to make you my warranties & if your machine will not mow of which you can satisfy the Agent for he can show you what is wrong he will refund amt. to you to make it right."
