, Volume II, Washington: Beverley Tucker, Senate Printer, 1856. A collection of three maps made during Commodore Perry's expedition to Japan. They include two fold-out charts, one of the Pacific Ocean; the other a chart of gales and hurricanes in the Pacific. Each chart measures about 25" x 9". A smaller map, 11" x 9", depicts the coal mines on the island of Formosa. Also included is the original title and contents page from the original book from which these maps were originally contained in. The paper has toned and there is scattered light foxing, otherwise they are in very good condition. (Total: 3 Items)
