Description

Jim Irwin Signed Apollo 15 Lunar Surface Flag Salute Color Photo. A 10" x 8" litho print of Irwin on the lunar surface saluting the American flag, signed in black felt tip: "Jim Irwin" (the "His Love From the Moon" above is printed). Excellent.

Irwin was the eighth man to walk on the Moon, spending nearly three days on the lunar surface in July-August 1971. Alongside mission commander David Scott, Irwin conducted extensive geological exploration of the Hadley-Apennine region and helped deploy the Lunar Roving Vehicle on its first mission. A deeply spiritual man, he later described his lunar experience as profoundly moving, inspiring him to found the High Flight Foundation, a Christian outreach organization.
