Description
Frank Borman 1978-dated Typed Letter Signed Discussing His Path to Becoming an Astronaut. With Transmittal Envelope. One page on 7.25 x 10.5" blindstamped Eastern Air Lines letterhead to Mr. Dan Robb. In this letter, Apollo 8 Commander Frank Borman reflects on the formative stages of his career and outlines the path that led him to NASA. He describes his motivation to fly, securing a West Point appointment, flying fighters, and test piloting at Edwards Air Force Base, which ultimately positioned him for selection into the astronaut program. He writes: "It was the result of a progression of events rather than a single development... It is, in my opinion, a great blessing that we live in a nation where a person is free to establish and seek those things most important to him." Signed at close in black ink: "Frank Borman". Blindstamped Eastern envelope included. Excellent.Auction Info
