Gemini 5: Crew-Signed Launch Cover with NASA KSC Official Cachet [and] U.S.S. Lake Champlain Recovery Cover. A pair of commemorative philatelic covers honoring the Gemini 5 mission. As follows.Launch: A philatelic plain cover featuring a scarce NASA Kennedy Space Center stamped cachet in blue, bearing a 5¢ "Churchill" stamp with a machine KSC cancelation on August 21, 1965. Signed "Gordon Cooper/ Gemini V - Cdr" and "Charles Conrad Jr./ Gemini V PLT.". Addressed. Excellent.
Splashdown: A philatelic cover with a stamped "Manned Flight U.S. Navy Recovery Force" cachet bearing a 5¢ "Salvation Army" stamp machine canceled on the actual recovery ship, the U.S.S. Lake Champlain on August 29, 1965. Signed: "Charles Conrad Jr." and "Gordon Cooper". Unaddressed. Excellent.
