Description
Ronald Reagan Autograph Letter Signed with Initials. One page, 6 x 9 inches, no place; January 1967. A brief letter addressed to "Mrs. Cooper," in blue ballpoint pen, discussing the California Governor's possible relation to Lord Napier; a Reagan family legend claimed that his maternal grandmother, Mary Elsey, was a descendant of Lord Napier, but was disowned for "marrying beneath her station." The letter reads, in full:"It is my understanding this is the same Lord Napier - founder of maritime law etc. All I really know is from some writing on the fly leaf of a family bible. According to this source a daughter was disowned for marrying beneath her station and the family on my mothers side comes down from this union." Signed, "R R."
Condition: A touch of ink blotting at the word "founder," else fine.
