Description

John Hancock Autograph Endorsement Signed on Back of a Bill of Exchange. One page, 8 x 6 1/4 inches, Boston; April 17, 1767. A bill of exchange for "One thousand Four hundred twelve Pounds, Seventeen Shillings & Six pence Sterling" due to John Hancock from Jasper Mauduit. Endorsed and signed on the verso, "Please to pay the contents to Mess Harrison Barnard & Sprag on order value rec'd -- John Hancock."

Condition: Somewhat toned with light, scattered staining. Smoothed folds, with a few small separations thereat, some touching text but not affecting legibility. Minor edgewear, including a few small chips.
