Description
[Samuel Clemens] Mark Twain: Pair of Cabinet Cards. Lot includes: 1) 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" on photographer's mount; Hartford, CT; circa 1884. Image of Twain with his wife and children on their porch, taken by H. L. Bundy with backstamp on verso. 2) 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" on photographer's mount; Windsor, England; circa late 1890s. Portrait of Twain facing right, taken by Russell & Sons.Condition: 1) Toning with minor soiling and edgewear. Some marks on verso. 2) Toning, foxing, and scattered soiling. Some edgewear to mount and a small chip to photograph at bottom right. Pencil notation on verso.
