Abraham Lincoln: Legal Notices Placed by Abraham Lincoln and his Law Partner Stephen T. Logan in the Illinois Register (Springfield) Newspaper. May 13, 1842, 4 pgs., 19" x 24 1/2". Abraham Lincoln's home town newspaper which contains a list of six front page legal notices (Third column) placed by the LOGAN AND LINCOLN LAW FIRM. In 1842, Abraham Lincoln was partnered with Stephen T. Logan in a law practice in Springfield, Illinois. Their partnership, which began in 1841, saw them working on a variety of cases, including criminal defense, land disputes, and even bankruptcy cases following the 1841 Bankruptcy Act. They initially shared office space with Lincoln's previous partner, John T. Stuart, before moving to a more prominent location on the public square. The partnership dissolved in 1844 when Logan brought his son, Davis Logan, into the firm.Condition: Light edge wear and age, else fine.
