Description
Buzz Aldrin Signed Apollo 11 Moonlanding Cover with Added Apollo 11 Flown Kapton Foil, Signed Edition #4/11, with Letters of Authenticity from Apollospace and The Right Stuff Space. An extraordinary relic from humankind's first lunar landing mission. This presentation cover, with a color Folio-print cachet and postmarked at Cape Canaveral on July 20, 1969, commemorates the Apollo 11 lunar landing and is neatly signed by in black felt tip: "Buzz Aldrin". Affixed to the envelope is an odd-shaped 0.25" x 0.375" flown fragment of gold-colored Kapton foil insulation from the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia. The verso is hand-numbered "No. 4 of 11 / Series A11 SE#1" by Apollospace.The cover is accompanied by a detailed Apollospace Letter of Authenticity signed by Jeremy Theoret, certifying the authenticity of both the flown Kapton foil and Buzz Aldrin's signature. The LOA documents the chain of custody, tracing the foil's origin to NASA Production Control Engineer William Whipkey, and illustrates the division of original foil remnants into eleven pieces, of which this is one. Also, photocopies of two original COAs from Sandy Clarkson. Excellent.
