Description
[Samuel Clemens] Mark Twain: Pair of Stereoviews. Lot includes: 1) 6 7/8" x 3 3/8" on photographer's mount; New York; circa 1869. Image of a youthful Twain facing left, taken by J. Gurney & Son. 2) 7" x 3 1/2" on photographer's mount; New York; 1906. Image of Twain sitting in bed and writing, taken by Underwood & Underwood.Condition: 1) Toning with scattered soiling and minor edgewear. Small area of surface loss and pencil notation on verso. 2) Some minor soiling and edgewear. A few marks and pen notation on verso.
