John Tyler: Four Languages Ship's Papers Signed. 16 1/4" x 20 1/4", June 7, 1843. Issued in French, Spanish, English and Dutch to "John Carr master or commander of the Boat called Ann Marie of the burden of one hundred seventy six tons, or thereabouts, lying in the port of Fall River bound for Indian Ocean and laden with provisions, staves and utensils for a Whaling Voyage". Boldy signed by President John Tyler and Secretary of State Daniel Webster.Condition: Minor edge wear and typical folds. Original paper seal present. Signatures bold and clear.
