Group of Seven Japanese Yanone of the Yanagi-ba (Willow Leaf) Type.

Forged steel arrowheads of elongated spear type designed for battlefield use, valued for its aerodynamic efficiency and penetrating power. These examples demonstrates the refined forging typical of the period, with symmetrical proportions and a smooth, polished surface. Such arrowheads were mounted on lacquered bamboo shafts and employed in warfare as well as hunting. The seven examples in the group have tips ranging from 1 ¼-inches to 3 ¾-inches, and overall lengths from 7 ½ to 11 ¼-inches. Three examples signed.

Condition: All examples in very good or better condition.
