Keller, M.D. (1880-1966) was the first psychiatrist to write for the horror genre. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during both World Wars, and was Assistant Superintendent at the Louisiana State Mental Hospital until 1928, when he began writing tales for Hugo Gernsback, publisher of the pulp magazine Amazing Stories. Keller's work appears in the very first issue of Science Wonder Stories, which coined the term "science fiction" in 1929. From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.
