Fabricius' Masterpiece of Greek Studies
[Johann Albert Fabricius], Jo. Alberti Fabricci. Bibliotheca Græca, sive Notitia Scriptorum Veterum Græcoraum.... Hamburg: Christian Liebezeit & Theodor Christoph Felinger, 1716 - 1726. Fourteen books in seven quarto volumes. Various editions and publishers. [14], 252; 253-940; [14], 830, [2]: [14], 711; [14], 616: [14], 338; [6], 186; [6], 824: [12], 792; [18], 876: [14], 860, [1]; [26], 824: [6], 808; [12], 911: [10], 860; [10], 740 pages. Ten engraved frontispieces, some title pages in red and black, engraved printer's devices on title pages, ornamental head- and tail-pieces, decorated initials, Greek type. Uniformly bound in blind stamped vellum, four raised spine bands with titles in compartments. Holograph ink previous owner's name on front pastedowns: "Ana Malmström 1876." Vellum boards lightly warped, rubbed, soiled, torn, vellum loss exposing composite wood and paper boards, small holes from biopredation; few cracked hinges, title page and two following leaves of volume one loose, small hole from biopredation in text of the fifth volume from the engraved frontispiece to leaf (Gg)1 with minimal affect to text, pages lightly cockled, creased, corner bends, minor soiling, few tears, old paper repairs, minor paper loss, lacking last leaf from Liebezeit catalog of volume three, some over-opened pages, occasion foxing and light browning; otherwise internally in very good condition.
