Illustrated frontispiece and nine illustrated plates by the author's father, John Lockwood Kipling. Bound in half green morocco over marbled paper covered boards with matching marbled edges and endpapers. Five raised spine bands with gilt titles and floral devices in compartments. Binding rubbed and spine color faded. Small pencil bookseller's marks on versos of front free endpaper and frontispiece, also on page 1. Versos of free endpapers and adjacent fly-leaves with heavy foxing, few light spots of foxing or smudging on pages and plates. Very good.
