CABINET CARD GERONIMO BY A. F. RANDALL 1880s Geronimo. June 1829-February 1909 (Chiricahua Apache 'One Who Yawns'); was a prominent Native American leader of the Chiricahua Apache who warred against the encroachment of the United States on his tribal lands and people for over 25 years.This photograph of Geronimo sitting in studio was attributed to A. F. Randall as his paper tag is on verso. Also in period ink: "Compliments of C. P. Terrek?, 1st Lt. 8th Infantry New York 10/1/86." Also in period pencil "J. B. Poole 245 West-35th New York USA." 5.5" x 8". Photograph is very good, with light contrast, has corner broken bottom right, and taped in frame.
