Apollo 9 Crew-Signed Large Apollo 9 Earth Observation Color Photo Picturing California, Mounted on Matboard. A 20" x 16" glossy photo, an Earth orbit view of the horizon and the spacecraft lunar module adapter (SLA) with the lunar module visible, NASA image AS09-19-2948. Visible areas of California include Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and the Santa Cruz Islands. Signed in silver felt tip: "Dave Scott/ Apollo 9 CMP", "Rusty Schweickart", and "Jim McDivitt". Not only has Heritage never offered an Apollo 9 crew-signed photo of this large size but also, never this image. Mounted to an overall 22" x 18". Minor flaws. Fine.This photo exemplifies the transition between Earth-bound testing and lunar mission readiness. The visibility of the Earth and the Apollo hardware, makes this one of the most evocative images of the mission. The photograph also visually demonstrates Apollo 9's engineering objectives: LM extraction, propulsion separation, and orbital coordination.
