SPACE MODELS

Apollo Astronaut "America Wins The Space Race" Code 3 (Biltmore) Limited Edition Model, 72/2500, in Original Box. An incredibly detailed model developed by Code 3 in conjunction with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum of an Apollo astronaut saluting the American flag on the lunar surface. The astronaut and flag are approximately 9.25" tall with overall display dimensions of 11.25" x 12" x 9.5" when assembled with acrylic protective case. The included National Air and Space Museum Collection COA states in part: "The United States successfully landed men on the Moon and returned them safely, fulfilling President Kennedy's vision and meeting the goat that inspired manned spaceflight during the 1960s." Numbered 72 out of 2500, these models do not come to the market often, and in fact, this is the first that Heritage has offered. Slight loss to one stripe of the flag, which could be mitigated by model paint. Otherwise excellent.
