Description
Charles H. Dow Endorsed Certificate with Jean Paul Getty Signed Check. Includes:Charles H. Dow Endorsed Amity Canal, Reservoir and Improvement Company Certificate. One page, 14 x 17 inches, [New York]; April 1, 1891. A stock certificate for shares of the Amity Canal, Reservoir and Improvement Company, endorsed by Dow on the verso, "Charles H Dow" as Trustee.
Jean Paul Getty Signed Check. 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, Santa Monica; July 18, 1946. A check made out to William Beresford of Los Angeles for $80.00. Signed, "J Paul Getty."
Condition: Certificate lightly toned and creased at folds; cancelled with twelve holes punched at signatures (not affecting Dow's endorsement); rough bottom edge where four stock coupons were removed. Check lightly toned with smoothed folds; two holes punched at bottom edge; small separation at top edge of center fold; cancelled with holes punched at top right corner; endorsed by Beresford on the verso.
