Expertly Carved Pipe Commemorating Battles, burlwood bowl with curved dark horn stem. The front of the pipe is decorated with an American eagle gripping a banner proclaiming "Union". A monitor-type ironclad graces one side of the bowl while a 2nd Corps clover leaf is on the other. The following roster of battle names is rendered on the bowl in high relief with an incredibly precise hand: Fair Oaks, Balls Bluff, Malvern Hill, Bull Run, Fredericksburg, Antietam, Gettysburg, 7 Pines and Savage Station. Minute chips to top front of bowl, attractive glossy patina with signs of use.Auction Info
