First edition. Octavo. 190 pages. Engraved frontispiece and six additional engravings. Numerous black and white illustrations by W. Fitzgerald and W. V. Cockburn.

Full white vellum with red and gold ruling and lettering on front cover and spine. All edges gilt. Floral endpapers. Overall soiling to boards and spine, moderate wear to board edges and corners. Spine is age toned with light bumping and wear to ends. Slightly skewed. Occasional foxing primarily on the initial leaves. Previous owner's gift inscription. Strange and eerie fairy tales for children.
