Description

J. P. Sauer & Sohn Model 1913 Pistol and WWII Holster. Cal 7.65. Serial Number 89480. A handsome pistol retaining the majority of its rich bluing and with an excellent bore. The top of the slide is marked "J. P. Sauer & Sohn, Suhl." and with the Sauer logo. The back of the slide and frame are marked with the proper "Crown N" mark and the black plastic grips in excellent condition, un-chipped or broken, albeit a bit loose on the frame. The finish displays the typical holster wear at the end of the barrel and high spots, with some slight thinning to the finish on the grip straps, otherwise it is in excellent condition. The pistol is sold without a magazine. The brown leather holster, probably intended for the Sauer model 38(h) shows little wear and is stamped "Schambach & Co/ Berlin/ 1942" over a German eagle proof stamp. The number "46" is stamped in ink on the underside of the flap. Included is the certificate issued by Headquarters United States Forces European Theater that gives a United States Army soldier the right to keep the captured enemy weapon, "1 German Pistol 32 Cal. - No. 89480".
