L. C. Smith (Hunter Arms Company) No. 3E Grade Double-Barrel Shotgun. 12 gauge. Serial number 9180 (1919 manufacture date). 30" blued Nitro Steel barrels with tapered concave matte rib. About seven pounds in weight, overall length 46½", LOP 13½" to the 1" recoil pad, DAC 2", DAH 3". Double triggers. Case-colored action with modest floral engraving and birdlife scenes within oval borders on either side. The blued trigger guard is engraved with complementary floral designs. Checkered English walnut pistol-grip stock with added recoil pad and matching fore end which has an ebony inlay at the tip. A small silver shield escutcheon is inlayed in the underside of the butt. This is a handsome shotgun displaying only careful use, and a small professional repair to the stock near the crown. In all other respects this is an excellent shotgun.
