Description

R. F. Sedgely High Wall Single-Shot Rifle With Winchester A5 Scope. Cal. .22 Hornet. Serial number 1241. 26" blued, round heavy barrel. This rifle started out life as a Winchester Model 1885 High Wall rifle and was modified by Sedgely to fire .22 Hornet. It appears that Sedgely also added a more elegant cocking lever than typically found on standard Winchester models. This example has a Lyman tang sight and Winchester A5 five power scope. The rifle features a beautiful checkered pistol-grip stock and matching fore end, complete with sling mounts and a period leather sling. Sedgely's workmanship is fully evident on this solid, well-made rifle. The overall condition of the rifle is excellent, with some modest wear to the receiver and only trivial wear to the stock.
