Description
W. W. Greener FH25 Grade Double-Barrel Shotgun. 12 gauge. Serial number 72586. 30" barrels with slightly tapered concave matte rib. The rib is marked "W.W. GREENER MAKER: 40 PALL MALL LONDON S.W. WORKS ST. MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM". About 7¼ pounds in weight, 47" in overall length, LOP 14¼", DAC 2", DAH 2½". Case-colored action lavishly engraved with floral patterns and birdlife scenes. The barrels and action are well-stamped with nitro proofs and other English proofs of the period. This extraordinary shotgun is stocked in beautifully figured and checkered English walnut, and the fore end is tipped in horn. There is a small silver unmarked escutcheon inlayed into the lower edge of the stock. The shotgun has the Greener thumb safety on the left side of the stock. Double triggers. This is a superb Greener exhibiting little wear and use, and in truly fine condition.Auction Info
