Description
N. P. Ames US Navy Powder Flask Dated 1843. One obvious dent and a few small very shallow, barely noteworthy, dents. Else very fine with perfect tight seams, spout and operating spring loaded charger. Marked on the top "N. P. Ames / 1843." The flask is marked "P" in five different places and has the inspector's mark "WAT" in script. Ring mounts with original circular brass rings. Fine pre Mexican War example of this scarce US Navy issue flask. 9 3/4" overall including spout.Auction Info
