U.S. Model 1863 Remington Contract Percussion .58 Caliber or "Zouave" Rifle. Metal is mostly smooth and brown with small areas of light surface roughness. Lock marked Remington's / Ilion, NY" , "US", and dated 1863, tight action. Brass fittings show minor dents and scratches save for the butt plate which exhibits deep dents. Stock shows clear inspectors cartouches and sharp edges but does have normal small dents and scratches and a few small losses along the ramrod channel. Complete with original ramrod.Auction Info
