Description

U.S. Model 1816 Percussion Conversion Musket and Socket Bayonet. NVSN, .69 caliber, 42-inch round barrel. Lock marked US / PHILA, and dated 1837. Walnut stock with three barrel bands, sling swivels, ramrod and metal buttplate. Stock with several faint cartouches. Sold with an incorrect US marked socket bayonet.
Condition: Good. Metal with a smooth brown patina. Powder pitting on the breech. Stock with modest handling wear, exhibiting light scratches and bruises. Action remains strong. Bore dark. Bayonet in fair condition with surface rust and shallow pits.
