Medal for the "First Reunion Gen'l George A Custer's Command 1861 - 1865" Held in 1907 in Canandaigua, N. Y. 1 1/2" antiqued bronze medal with bust of Custer and above information on front. Verso with small maker's logo, Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N. J. Top bar with pin back, also maker marked on back, with crossed sabers over a wreath and "Canandaigua, N. Y. Aug 21, 22, 1907" in ribands top and bottom. The medal is overall in perfect condition. Accompanied by a newspaper article from 1960 recounting the reunion and the details surrounding it, stating it was attended by 300 veterans. Obviously a very scarce medal with very limited production, this being a mint example.
