Description

Confederate 4.62-Inch Short Pattern Bolt. This rare specimen is in very good unfired condition. The body of the bolt is smooth as is the surface of the bourrelets. The sabot is a copper ring that has two minor dents opposite one another on the edge. The shape of the nose is very crisp. Attached to the side of the shell is a nicely done label that reads "4.62 READ BOLT." Nice example of this scarce projectile. This bolt was meant for use with a rifled 12-pounder gun.
