Cased 12 Gauge Parker DHE Skeet Model Double Barrel Shotgun.Serial no. 238547. 12 gauge. 26-inch Titanic steel barrels with a matted concave rib with two ivory beads. Barrel flats stamped: Skeet In and Skeet Out. Casehardened number 1 1/2 frame engraved with foliate scroll, game scenes of dogs on the side of the action and a medallion of 4 pheasants on the triggerplate. PARKER on underside of action. Ejectors. Maker's single selective trigger. Well-made replacement finely checkered straight stock of slightly figured English walnut with numerous contrasting bands. Brass oval with the initials JAC. Skeleton buttplate with checkered interior. Checkered beaver-tail fore-end of a figured walnut. Period leg-of-mutton leather gun case with brass hardware.
Data: Barrel Dimensions: Bore diameter: 0.729/0.730 inches. Chokes: 0.011/0.012 inches (Improved Cylinder/Modified) Chambers. 2 5/8 inches. Minimum wall thickness: 0.027 inches. Proof: Parker overload proof. Stock dimensions: Pull: 14 inches. Drop at comb: 1 1/2 inches. Drop at heel: 2 3/8 inches. Cast: None. Weight: 7 pounds. 10 ounces. Condition: Excellent, as partially redone. Barrels show 94-94% blued finish with majority of losses under the fore-end. Excellent bright bores. Action shows 20-25% case color with majority on the side of the action. Triggerguard and buttplate show a silver patina, Fore-end furniture show traces of case colors. Barrel/action show very slight looseness. Triggerguard shows a scratch on the front of the bow. Stock shows a one-inch scratch on the right side and a few light marks at the heel. Fore-end shows some finish losses at the rear and a 1 1/2-inch scratch in the checkering on the right side.
