Description
Rocketdyne J-2 Saturn Second Stage Recirculation System Valve Assembly. An approximately 10.5" x 8" x 3" Recirculation System Valve Assembly manufactured by Rocketdyne. Rocketdyne developed the J-2 liquid-fuel cryogenic rocket engine for NASA to use on both the Saturn IB and Saturn V. The Rocketdyne label bears the following information: NAME "Recirculation valve", S&ID CONTROL NO. "ME284-0112", MFR SER NO. "2785388", and MFR PART NO. "409440". There are numerous other numbers and inspector's stamps found on the unit. These valves were designed to regulate propellant flow through the engine pumps. An interesting piece of equipment with great display potential. Very fine.Auction Info
