Description
Apollo 13: NASA Vintage "Report of the Apollo 13 Review Board" Book. Dated June 15, 1970, this soft cover 8" x 10.5" staple bound report of approximately 175 pages contains five chapters - "Authorities," "Board History and Procedures." "Description of Apollo 13 Space Vehicle and Mission," "Review and Analysis of Apollo 13 Accident" and "Findings, Determinations, and Recommendations," with eight appendices. Well-illustrated with many line drawings, photographs (some color), charts and graphs. Light wear, very fine.From the preface (in part): "The Apollo 13 accident, which aborted man's third mission to explore the surface of the Moon, is a harsh reminder of the immense difficulty of this undertaking...The Board feels that the nature of the Apollo 13 equipment failure holds important lessons which, when applied to future missions, will contribute to the safety and effectiveness of manned space flight."
