Description
Cased London Engraved Colt Frontier Six-Shooter Single Action Revolver. Serial no. 133167, .44 caliber, 5 3/8-inch barrel with London address and roll-stamped legend: COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER. Extensive New York-style scroll-engraving on barrel, frame and cylinder. Engraving includes beautiful sunburst motif on both sides of recoil shield. Triggerguard stamped: 133167/K. Mother-of-pearl grips with Mexican Eagle on right panel and decorative engraving to left. Contained in associated hardwood case with purple baize lining and compartments for cartridges and accessories. Sold together with cleaning rod and key. Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 80-90% nickel finish with small patches of pitting to ejector rod housing, cylinder flutes and cylinder stops. Left grip panel with small loss at toe. Bright, strong bore with patches of fine pitting. Action crisp. Case is excellent. Lock functions. Manufactured 1890.Auction Info
