Bruce McCandless Signed Large STS-41-B Untethered Spacewalk Color Photo with Extensive Handwritten Description. A 20" x 16" silk finish photo on Kodak Endura paper of McCandless floating in the blackness of space above Earth's bright blue horizon during an extravehicular activity (EVA) outside the cabin of the shuttle Challenger during STS-41-B. It is signed in silver felt tip just beneath his floating image: "In order to test the Manned/ Maneuvering Unit (MMU) and the/ Manipulator Foot Restraint (MFR)/ I made the first untethered/ free flight on each of the/ two MMU's onboard. I became the/ first person ever to make an untethered/ spacewalk on/ February 7, 1984./ Bruce McCandless II/ STS-41-B". A fabulous image of this landmark event. Excellent.
