Cased British Double Action Percussion Revolver by Beckwith. Serial no. 10460, .450 caliber, 6-inch octagonal barrel with Tranter patented loading lever. Top of frame marked: H. BECKWITH SKINNER ST. LONDON. Blued finish with scroll-engraved borders. [crown]/P on barrel. Inspector's initials left side of frame forward of cylinder. Finely checkered hardwood grips. Unique dual trigger mechanism marked: TRANTER. Contained in London-style hardwood case with green baize lining. Beckwith label to lid. Case contains oiler, cap tins, powder flask, bullet mold, cleaning rod and bullet tin. Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 25-35% original blue, the balance a smooth gray-brown patina. Scattered patches of fine pitting. Grips fine with light age wear. Fair bore with moderate pitting. Action very smooth. Case is fine to excellent with light wear to exterior and fading to lining. Label is excellent.
