Description
European Bell Cup Rapier. Having a 43 1/2-inch tapered straight blade of diamond section with 7 1/4-inch single narrow median fuller. Valley of fuller marked: WOWOW. Base of blade with painted consignor's inventory number: "EL-668". Deep bell cup, pierced with interlocking scrolls. Plain recurved quillons and single bar knucklebow. One-piece grip, with later copperwire rewrap and turks' heads. Engraved orb-shaped iron pommel with button finial. No scabbard. Condition: Good to very good. Metal showing grey age patina and scattered pitting overall. Grip and turks' heads are later replacements.Auction Info
