Apollo 11 Flown Outer Space Treaty Facsimile Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Michael Collins with Handwritten Letter of Certification, in Framed Display. A 5.25" x 3" (sight size) printed copy of the "Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies" printed on parchment paper. This was carried to the moon by Collins on the historic Apollo 11 mission. This treaty forms the basis for international space law. It was opened for signature in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union on January 27, 1967, and entered into force on October 10, 1967. Today, 108 countries are party to the treaty. Double matted and framed with a handwritten and signed note from Collins on his personal notepaper; it reads: "This small copy of the 'Space Treaty' was carried to the moon aboard Apollo XI. Michael Collins. January 8, 2004". Nicely framed to an overall 18" x 15". COA from RR Auction on back of frame. A few minor dings to the frame, very fine. Provenance: Eric C. Caren Collection.
