Buzz Aldrin's Special American Airlines' Celebrity Ski Classic
Package Originally from His Personal Collection, with Certificate
of Authenticity. Buzz Aldrin has been a frequent participant in
American Airlines Celebrity Ski events, which are held annually to
raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. At the American
Airlines Celebrity Ski events, Aldrin enjoys skiing with the other
celebrities and guests, as well as attending the various social
events that are held throughout the weekend. He is also a popular
guest at the event's silent auction, where he often donates items
of memorabilia. In addition to his participation in the American
Airlines Celebrity Ski events, Aldrin is also a vocal advocate for
the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He has spoken at the foundation's
events and has helped to raise awareness of the disease. This lot
includes the following.Buzz Aldrin Signed Pair of His K2 Apache Skis: The K2 Apache skis are a versatile all-mountain ski that is designed to perform well in a variety of snow conditions. They have a 78mm waist width, which gives them a good balance of floatation in powder and edge grip on hardpack. The Apaches also feature K2's MOD Monic technology, which helps to dampen vibrations and provide a smooth ride. Thet are a good choice for intermediate to advanced skiers who are looking for a ski that can do it all, comfortable on groomed runs, but they can also handle powder and off-piste terrain.
Buzz Aldrin's Red Racing Jacket from the 1989 American Ski Classic. This event raised money for Cystic Fibrosis. There is an Apollo 11 embroidered mission patch on the right chest. This was shortly after Aldrin picked up the sport from wife Lois.

Despite being relatively new to skiing and especially ski racing, Aldrin's Pro-Celebrity team would often win. Why? Because he loved going fast! What a great package! Generally very fine.
