Description

Neil Armstrong Signed 1994 Commemorative Edition Souvenir Sheet of Twelve 29¢ "25th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing" Stamp, Originally from the Slaytons' Personal Collection, with Notarized Certificate of Authenticity. A 5.75" x 7.625" USPO-issued souvenir that celebrates the anniversary of this historic event quoting Armstrong's famous first words: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Armstrong has signed just above that in gold felt tip: "To Deke. Good Luck!/ Neil Armstrong". Includes a COA signed by Slayton's stepdaughter. Upper left corner bent and damaged with small paper loss, could be matted out; the stamps and signature are fine.

Note that this philatelic item was signed at around the time that Neil Armstrong quit signing autographs in general and decades after he quit signing philatelic material. A rare and significant item. From The Private Collection of Belinda and Raymond Reyes.
