Flown Aboard the "Dress Rehearsal"
Apollo 10 Flown Silver Snoopy Award in Wooden Plaque with
Mission Patch, as Presented to Kenneth S. Kleinknecht. A quite
handsome 8" x 10" wooden plaque containing a beautiful Apollo 10
mission insignia patch, upon which a flown 10mm x 13mm silver pin
of Charles Schulz's beloved Snoopy doing his happy dance in full
spacesuit and helmet has been mounted. Very fittingly, this was
flown to within 50,000 feet of the moon's surface on the Lunar
Module Snoopy during the Apollo 10 mission. The Silver Snoopy is an
award that the NASA Astronaut Corps presents to individuals that
have made a significant contribution to the success of manned space
flight. Almost all of these pins carried on the Apollo X flight
were given to individuals who made important contributions to our
flight. Some light surface scratches, fine.
