Description
Gemini 11 Altitude Record Model on Wooden Base, 1966. A detailed model of the Gemini 11 spacecraft mounted on a clear acrylic stand which in turn is mounted on a wooden base. Printed on the base is the following: "Model of/ Gemini #11/ Altitude Record/ 850 Miles/ Pete Conrad/ Dick Gordon/ 9-13 Thru 9-16/ 1966". The high-apogee earth orbit record (853.8 miles) they set stands to this day for a manned non-lunar mission. Rarely offered and only the second example Heritage has offered. Age related wear to acrylic, overall very fine.Auction Info
