Description

Apollo 12 Flown Tie Bar Showing an Astronaut Carrying the Bendix ALSEP (Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package), from Alan Bean's Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. A silver-colored 1.375" x 0.875" tie bar that flew in the CM Yankee Clipper which orbited the moon while the Intrepid was on the surface. This was the first mission to carry the ALSEP; Bean and Conrad used most of their first EVA deploying the various experiments in the package. This is the first one of these we have encountered. A very handsome (the astronaut's visor is gold-colored) and wearable Space artifact. From the estate of Moonwalker and Artist Alan Bean.
